Nine enthusiastic students from Yangon University of Foreign Languages have successfully completed a one-month internship at MI Radio. This program, organized by Myanmar International Radio, aimed to open doors for students and give them a taste of the media world.
Many students auditioned for this opportunity, and the lucky nine got the chance to explore the exciting field of media. Throughout the month, they participated in a variety of activities that helped them learn and grow.
During the internship program, the head of the radio station, Ko Zaw Min Htet shared valuable ideas about concept thinking related to creating radio shows and writing scripts.
Students also had the exciting opportunities to explore various aspects of radio, including news writing, translation, scriptwriting, voice acting, and the duties of a Radio DJ. They appeared as special guests on MI Radio’s program, Pyaw Kya Mal, which will be broadcasted soon. These recorded shows featured topics chosen by the students and were produced alongside MI Radio DJs, DJ Phyo Su and DJ Zwe.
Plus, DJ Theo shared valuable tips on being a radio presenter and how to sound professional on air. Additionally, some students participated in a thrilling radio drama show, making the experience even more memorable.
Aye Thet Thet Mon, a student of English for Professional Communication who dreams of becoming a radio DJ, said, “I gained so much more experience than I expected, and I enjoyed every moment at MI Radio. My coworkers are really nice, and I love the working environment. One of my favorite memories was doing voice acting as a mom!”
A one-month internship program ran from October 1st to 31st, featuring nine students. Four students specialized in English for Professional Communication: May Htoo Thwin, Aye Thet Thet Mon, Thet Myat Noe, and Nan Thwe Thwe Soe. Three students majoring in Chinese, Kay Thwe Su San, Win Shwe Yee, and Yoon Shwe Zin Phyo, participated, along with Myat Mosan from the German major and Nandar Oo Wai from the French major.
