Xi replies to letter from representatives of Kenyan students, alumni at Beijing Jiaotong University

Chinese President Xi Jinping responded to a letter from representatives of Kenyan students and alumni at Beijing Jiaotong University. Xi encouraged them to continue fostering the friendship between China and Kenya, as well as China and Africa. He highlighted the longstanding friendship between China and Kenya, emphasizing the success of the Belt and Road Initiative in realizing the development ideals of both nations. Xi mentioned the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway as a flagship project and a successful example of China-Kenya Belt and Road cooperation. Expressing satisfaction with the students’ connection to China, Xi urged them to contribute to the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Kenya. He encouraged the students to learn professional knowledge, strengthen bilateral cooperation, share stories of China-Africa friendship, and contribute to building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future. The students had previously expressed their joy in learning railway operation and management knowledge in China and hoped to serve as a bridge of friendship between Kenya and China.
