Chinese President Xi Jinping has outlined four principles for resolving conflicts and other major issues in Africa during his meeting with Togolese leader Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé in Beijing on Tuesday. Xi said African countries should take the lead in addressing regional issues, while all parties should respect international law, national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He also called for ending hostilities through dialogue and consultation, saying wars and unilateral sanctions cannot fundamentally resolve conflicts. Xi stressed that efforts should address both immediate security concerns and the underlying causes of conflicts through long-term development.
