Chinese President Xi Jinping has instructed a comprehensive search and rescue operation for those missing due to recent floods in Sichuan Province. He also emphasized investigating the disaster’s causes, enhancing safety measures, and supporting the victims’ families. The flooding resulted from heavy rain at a construction site near a river. Premier Li Qiang supported these efforts and called for determining the cause, learning from the incident, and holding responsible parties accountable. The Ministry of Emergency Management and local authorities are coordinating search and rescue operations.
