Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese President, along with Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Honorary President of the Workers’ Party of Brazil (PT) and former Brazilian President, have conveyed congratulatory letters to the 7th theory seminar of the CPC and the PT held in Beijing.
In his letter, Xi emphasized the CPC’s commitment to lead China towards becoming a great modern socialist country and achieving national rejuvenation. He praised the PT’s efforts in promoting development strategies and sustainable development in Brazil since returning to power. The seminar, which focused on strengthening party building and exploring modernization paths, was hailed by Xi as significant for both countries’ ruling parties. Xi highlighted the 50th anniversary of China-Brazil diplomatic ties and the 40th anniversary of CPC-PT relations, expressing the CPC’s willingness to deepen exchanges with the PT on governance and contribute to bilateral relations and global cooperation.
In his letter, Lula acknowledged the efforts of himself and General Secretary Xi in elevating the comprehensive strategic partnership between Brazil and China. He emphasized the importance of Brazil-China relations for global governance mechanisms such as the United Nations and South-South cooperation platforms like BRICS. Lula underscored the significance of the relationship between the PT and the CPC, expressing confidence in closer and more fruitful exchanges between the two parties, governments, and peoples.
