Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to attend a China-U.S. summit and the 30th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in San Francisco from November 14 to 17, at the invitation of U.S. President Joe Biden. This marks the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since their last encounter ahead of the Group of 20 summit in Indonesia’s Bali last year. The discussions between Xi and Biden will cover strategic, overarching, and fundamental issues shaping China-U.S. relations, as well as major global concerns related to peace and development. Xi’s participation in the APEC meeting underscores China’s emphasis on Asia-Pacific economic cooperation. During the APEC summit, Xi is expected to deliver a speech outlining China’s proposals for deepening regional cooperation and driving global growth. Xi is accompanied by high-ranking officials, including Cai Qi and Wang Yi.
