Chinese President Xi Jinping replied to a letter from a U.S. youth education delegation from the Diamond Minds Transformational Leadership Academy, the University of Florida, and Miami-Dade College. In his January 7 letter, Xi expressed pleasure that the teachers and students had a rewarding visit to China and showed interest in Chinese culture.
He highlighted the “50,000 in Five Years” initiative, under which over 40,000 U.S. youth have participated, providing opportunities to understand China and strengthen people-to-people ties. Xi encouraged more American youth to engage in such exchanges, become envoys of friendship, and contribute to the development of China-U.S. relations. The U.S. delegation had previously written to Xi to thank him for the initiative and reflect on their October 2025 visit.
