Chinese President Xi Jinping and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi exchanged congratulatory messages on Saturday to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt.
Xi praised the long-standing friendship between the two countries, noting that Egypt was the first Arab and African nation to establish diplomatic ties with the People’s Republic of China. He said the two sides should deepen cooperation and continue building a closer partnership.
Sisi highlighted the steady growth of Egypt-China relations over the past seven decades and expressed hope for stronger cooperation in the future to promote development, peace and stability.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly also exchanged congratulations, pledging to expand cooperation in areas including trade, technology and infrastructure.
