Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated Felix Tshisekedi on his reelection as the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo). President Xi described the DR Congo as a traditional friendly country and a comprehensive strategic cooperative partner of China. Xi expressed a commitment to deepening political mutual trust, enhancing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and fostering new and increased development in China-DR Congo cooperation. Felix Tshisekedi secured a second five-year term after the elections held on December 20, 2023, and is set to be sworn in on January 20.
