Xi Jinping said China and Russia should strengthen high-quality strategic coordination and deepen cooperation during talks in Beijing with Vladimir Putin on Wednesday.
The meeting marked the 30th anniversary of the China-Russia strategic partnership and the 25th anniversary of the two countries’ Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation. Xi said the relationship has continued to grow through deeper political trust, expanding cooperation, and coordination on international affairs.
The two leaders discussed cooperation in trade, energy, technology, transportation, education, tourism, and multilateral frameworks including the United Nations, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation.
Putin described Russia-China ties as being at an unprecedented level and called the partnership an important stabilizing force in global affairs. After the talks, both sides signed joint statements and multiple cooperation agreements covering areas such as trade, science, and education.
