Xi calls for firm confidence, solid steps for China’s national rejuvenation

Chinese President Xi Jinping called on the country to move forward with confidence and continue efforts toward national development and rejuvenation. Speaking at a reception marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Xi praised China’s economic growth and social stability over the past 77 years. He said the country should maintain economic momentum, support innovation, improve people’s livelihoods and make a strong start to the 2026–2030 Five-Year Plan. Xi also reaffirmed support for Hong Kong and Macao, called for peaceful development of cross-Strait relations, and said China would continue its independent foreign policy of peace.
