The 78th World Health Assembly concluded in Geneva with major outcomes, including the adoption of a historic global pandemic agreement and approval of a $4.2 billion base program budget for 2026–2027. The pandemic agreement, the result of over three years of negotiations after COVID-19, aims to strengthen global preparedness and equity in future outbreaks. WHO Director-General Tedros called it one of the organization’s most significant achievements. The assembly also passed resolutions on health financing, traditional medicine, air pollution, nutrition, antimicrobial resistance, and more. China actively participated, with Vice Premier Liu Guozhong attending and the Chinese delegation engaging in extensive discussions and side events.
