World Central Kitchen (WCK) has stopped cooking in Gaza because it ran out of food supplies. The organization, which served over 130 million meals in the last 18 months, said it can no longer continue after Israel closed Gaza border crossings in early March, blocking new supplies. WCK’s kitchens and bakeries have run out of ingredients like flour, and over 80% of community kitchens they supported have no food left. Local leaders warn this will worsen hunger, especially for children, the elderly, and the sick. The UN has also warned of a growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
