Mozambique has signed five financing agreements worth $450 million with the World Bank to support social protection, economic resilience and sustainable development initiatives.
The agreements, signed in Maputo on Tuesday, will fund programs focused on job skills development, economic transformation, rural economic sustainability and water safety in rural areas and small cities. Finance Minister Carla Louveira said the funding aligns with the country’s goals of inclusive growth and poverty reduction and will help address recent economic and climate-related challenges. World Bank Managing Director Paschal Donohoe said the agreements reflect a shared commitment to advancing development and improving living conditions in Mozambique.
