Typhoon Wipha, the sixth typhoon of the year, has caused severe flooding in central Vietnam, particularly affecting Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces. One person was killed and another injured in Nghe An, where floodwaters reached depths of 1 to 2 meters in residential areas.
In Thanh Hoa, the storm triggered landslides at eight locations, displacing over 20,000 cubic meters of earth and rock. It also damaged seven houses, submerged more than 8,000 hectares of rice fields, and caused extensive agricultural and property damage. As of Wednesday, Wipha has weakened into a tropical depression and is moving west-southwest.
