The 56th World Economic Forum has opened in Davos, Switzerland, bringing together more than 60 world leaders and 3,000 delegates from 130 countries at a time of rising global tensions. US President Donald Trump, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy are among the key figures attending, along with many European and international leaders and top business executives. However, several leaders will not attend, including officials from Iran and Denmark, Spain’s prime minister, and leaders from Italy and the UK. The forum is expected to focus on geopolitics, trade disputes and the future direction of the world economy.
