The WHO reaffirmed its commitment to addressing health issues globally, including disease prevention and emergency responses, and emphasized its important role in safeguarding global health, including that of Americans. Since its founding in 1948, the U.S. has been a key member of the WHO. In response, China’s foreign ministry spokesperson emphasized support for the WHO and its mission to strengthen global health governance and cooperation.
