Gyeongju, South Korea, will host the 2025 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting from October 31 to November 1. APEC, comprising 21 economies including the U.S., China, Japan, and South Korea, promotes trade and economic cooperation across the Asia-Pacific, accounting for 40% of the world’s population and over 60% of global GDP.
This year’s theme is “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate and Prosper,” focusing on trade networks, AI and digital transformation, clean energy, food security, and inclusive growth. Leaders from all 21 economies, along with top business executives, will attend. While binding agreements are unlikely, the meeting is expected to shape regional cooperation on trade, technology, climate, and AI governance.
