The complex mission involved airstrikes to keep Iranian forces at bay and a CIA deception operation to mislead the IRGC. While the officer is now receiving medical treatment in Kuwait, Iranian officials have countered the U.S. narrative, claiming the rescue mission was a “complete failure” and resulted in the loss of multiple American aircraft.
