Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for reforms to global governance while speaking at an international security conference, urging stronger cooperation, true multilateralism, and a more effective United Nations system. Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China’s Global Governance Initiative aims to build a fairer international system and has gained broad support. He proposed revitalizing the UN, strengthening cooperation among countries, and promoting dialogue to resolve conflicts, noting there are over 60 ongoing global conflicts. He also called for continued efforts toward peace in Gaza and negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, adding that China will remain committed to peace, stability, and development.
