The death toll from Venezuela’s June 24 earthquakes has risen to 4,490, National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez said on Sunday.
The number of injured remains at 16,740, while more than 120,000 people are now receiving assistance. Authorities have established 108 temporary shelters for displaced residents.
More than 31,800 Venezuelan emergency personnel, along with 2,400 international rescuers, continue response efforts as the country has recorded 1,222 aftershocks following the twin earthquakes.
