US forces carried out new strikes in Iran targeting a military site and also shot down multiple Iranian drones, according to a US official, amid rising tensions over the Strait of Hormuz.
President Donald Trump dismissed reports of a draft US-Iran deal on restoring shipping through the strait, saying no country would control the waterway and warning Iran would not get sanctions relief in exchange for nuclear concessions.
Iranian media reported explosions near Bandar Abbas, while both sides accused each other of escalating military actions despite ongoing ceasefire talks.
Separately, Israel continued airstrikes in southern Lebanon, with officials saying operations against Hezbollah would intensify as regional tensions widen.
