US forces launched another round of strikes against Iran on Sunday, targeting sites that Washington said were linked to threats against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian media reported attacks in Hormozgan Province, where one person was killed and two others were injured.
The latest exchange marked the third round of US strikes against Iran this week. Tehran responded by launching missile and drone attacks targeting US military facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar, while again announcing the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. However, US President Donald Trump said the strategic waterway remained open.
The escalation drew regional condemnation, with Egypt, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates criticizing the Iranian strikes and calling for restraint and renewed dialogue to prevent further instability.
