The US and Iran have reportedly reached a peace deal, with an official memorandum of understanding expected to be signed in Switzerland on June 19.
US President Donald Trump said the agreement was “complete,” while Pakistan—acting as a mediator—announced the deal had been struck. Iranian officials also confirmed the agreement, saying it includes an end to military operations and the lifting of the US naval blockade, with further steps tied to verification and future nuclear negotiations.
European countries including Britain, France, Germany and Italy said they are prepared to lift sanctions if Iran takes verifiable steps on its nuclear program, while stressing that Iran must never acquire a nuclear weapon.
