The UN humanitarian agency OCHA described the situation in Gaza as catastrophic—the worst since the war began in October 2023—due to airstrikes, malnutrition, displacement, and breakdown of public order.
Only a small amount of aid has entered Gaza recently, with five UN trucks delivering medical supplies that were mostly looted. The nearly total blockade has left 2.1 million people in desperate need, with hospitals damaged or evacuated, and many displaced—nearly 200,000 in two weeks. Looting and violence, including attacks on aid workers, continue amid worsening conditions.
OCHA called for lifting the blockade, increased aid access through multiple crossings, and restoring public order, including allowing civilian police in Gaza.
In the West Bank, settler violence is rising, displacing Palestinian communities and restricting access to essential services for tens of thousands due to Israeli-imposed movement limits. The agency stressed the urgent need to meet civilian needs and ensure safe access to healthcare, education, and livelihoods.
