U.S. media praises Chinese film ‘Ne Zha,’ China’s consumption policy

A recent article in U.S. Foreign Policy discussed the success of the Chinese animated film Ne Zha 2, which has become the highest-grossing movie in China. This success reflects China’s growing demand for high-quality, locally made content, which is shifting away from reliance on Hollywood films. The article also highlighted how Chinese officials are focusing on boosting domestic consumption, especially in response to trade tensions with the U.S.

In addition to the film’s success, the article mentioned the popular Chinese-developed video game Black Myth: Wukong, which gained international attention in 2024. This shows that Chinese culture and entertainment are gaining popularity worldwide.

The Chinese government is encouraging consumer spending and private sector growth, with new initiatives in cultural industries, tourism, and sports. These efforts are helping to increase consumer confidence and suggest that China’s economy will continue to grow, with promising prospects ahead.
