U.S. President Donald Trump has begun his second state visit to the UK, making him the first foreign leader to receive two such honors. His three-day trip blends royal pageantry with major investment and trade talks.
Trump arrived in London on Tuesday night and will spend Wednesday at Windsor Castle, joining King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales for ceremonies, a carriage procession, a wreath-laying for Queen Elizabeth II, and a state banquet.
The visit is expected to deliver substantial economic agreements. U.S. tech giants, including Microsoft, Nvidia, and OpenAI, pledged around 42 billion dollars in UK investments, mainly in AI and data infrastructure. A new “tech prosperity pact” and a nuclear partnership involving small modular reactors are set to be finalized during talks at Chequers with Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The trip also underscores efforts to deepen U.S.-UK cooperation in technology, energy, and defense, though disputes remain over tariffs and UK concerns about over-reliance on U.S. tech investment.
