A recent poll shows that U.S. President Donald Trump’s approval rating has reached the lowest level for any newly elected president at the 100-day mark in over 70 years. The poll, conducted by ABC, The Washington Post, and Ipsos, found that only 39% of respondents approve of Trump’s presidency, a 6% drop from February. Meanwhile, 55% disapprove of his performance.
Only 21% of respondents strongly approve of Trump’s handling of the presidency, the lowest proportion since he took office, while 44% strongly disapprove. The poll also showed that 72% of people believe Trump’s economic policies might cause a recession, and 73% think the economy is in bad shape.
Additionally, 53% said the economy has worsened since Trump became president, and 41% reported their personal financial situation has gotten worse. Over 70% of respondents think Trump’s tariff policies are driving up prices, and 64% do not support his economic policies.
