U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday he will not back down from his plan to control Greenland and did not rule out using force. He later said he expects a solution that will satisfy both the U.S. and NATO.
Greenland and Denmark have rejected the idea, with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen warning that military action “cannot be ruled out either.” European leaders at the World Economic Forum called for respect and more independence from the U.S., while protests erupted in Greenland against Trump’s plan.
