Trump: U.S. to permanently pause migration from ‘Third World Countries’

Following the fatal shooting of a National Guard member, President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that his administration will “permanently pause” migration from all Third World countries, end federal benefits for noncitizens, and deport those deemed a public risk. He also threatened to reverse millions of admissions under Biden’s administration.

The move follows a DHS review of asylum cases and green cards, and immigration requests for Afghan nationals have been suspended indefinitely. Trump framed the actions as aiming to reduce illegal and disruptive populations.
