U.S. President Donald Trump warned on Tuesday that the U.S. would impose tariffs and other measures on Russia within 10 days if there is no progress toward ending the Ukraine war. This marks a shift from the earlier 50-day deadline Trump gave, reflecting his growing frustration with Moscow’s lack of cooperation.
Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump said he was unconcerned about the impact on oil prices, as he plans to boost U.S. oil production. He accused Russian President Putin of wanting to prolong the war and signaled readiness to follow through on sanctions.
In response, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev accused Trump of issuing dangerous ultimatums that could escalate into direct conflict between the U.S. and Russia. The warning comes amid Trump’s parallel efforts to broker peace in Gaza.
