Trump pleads not guilty to charges of efforts to overturn 2020 election

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has entered a plea of not guilty to federal charges related to his alleged involvement in attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election. He was arraigned in a federal courthouse in Washington, D.C., facing charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights. Trump’s indictment alleges that he spread false information about election fraud and attempted to obstruct the certification of the election results.

This marks the third time Trump has pleaded not guilty in recent months, amid ongoing legal proceedings. Trump’s lawyer cited the complexity of the case, while prosecutors argued for a regular trial process. Despite the legal challenges, Trump is currently a front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
