U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has announced key appointments for his administration. Congressman Mike Waltz, a retired U.S. Army Green Beret and defense policy expert, will serve as national security advisor. Waltz has extensive experience in national security, including advisory roles at the Pentagon and White House.
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has been nominated as U.S. ambassador to Israel. Trump praised Huckabee for his strong support for Israel and commitment to Middle East peace. Huckabee previously served as Arkansas governor from 1996 to 2007 and ran for president in 2008. Waltz’s role does not require Senate approval, while Huckabee’s appointment does.
