Trump announces de-escalation of immigration crackdown in Minnesota

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that his administration will move to de-escalate its immigration crackdown in Minnesota following growing public and political backlash. Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Trump said the government would “de-escalate a little bit.” The announcement comes after the fatal shooting of U.S. citizen Alex Pretti by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, which sparked widespread criticism. Former President Joe Biden condemned the incident and other violent actions by federal agents, saying the United States should not tolerate the killing or brutalization of its citizens or violations of constitutional rights. Biden called for an end to violent acts by federal agents, stating that such actions have no place in the country, particularly when carried out by the government against American citizens.
