Tropical Storm Lee has recently formed in the Atlantic Ocean and is anticipated to intensify into a major hurricane as it approaches the Caribbean, according to meteorologists. The National Hurricane Center in Miami reported that at its current position, it’s about 2,115 kilometers east of the Lesser Antilles, with sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and a west-northwest movement at 26 kilometers per hour.
The storm is expected to become an “extremely dangerous” hurricane by Friday due to warm sea waters and its trajectory just northeast of the Caribbean region. While initial projections do not indicate a direct landfall, it’s too early to determine the exact proximity to the Leeward Islands.
