On November 21st, the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar held Briefing on the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and Symposium Marking the 75th Anniversary of the Launch of China Today at the China Cultural Center in Yangon. The event brought together approximately 60 participants, including Minister Counselor Zheng Zhihong and Deputy Director-General U Zeyar of the Media Development Department under the Ministry of Information, along with scholars, media representatives, and faculty and student delegates from China and Myanmar. Faculty members and students of Beijing Foreign Studies University participated online.
Zheng Zhihong presented an introduction to China’s institutional strengths and development achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, underscoring that China will expand high-standard opening-up during the 15th Five-Year Plan period to break new ground for win-win cooperation and advance the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. He noted that the Chinese path to modernization will bring development opportunities to Myanmar, encouraging all sectors to contribute their wisdom and strength to China-Myanmar cooperation.
U Zeyar stated that China’s development will promote shared growth and prosperity of Myanmar and other neighboring countries. He extended congratulations on the 75th anniversary of the launch of China Today, hoping that the magazine will inject fresh vitality into Myanmar-China friendship.
Attending guests engaged in in-depth discussions, with young students from both countries actively voicing their opinions. Following the event, they immersed themselves in the art of Chinese paper-cutting.
