The 10th Great Wall Cup International Youth Football Invitational Tournament kicked off on August 14 in Beijing. The six-day event has brought together eight top U16 teams from China and overseas, including Real Madrid from Spain, Sporting CP from Portugal, AJ Auxerre from France, Crvena Zvezda from Serbia, Dinamo Tbilisi from Georgia, the Odi Akhmedov Academy from Uzbekistan, Jeju SK FC from South Korea, and Beijing’s youth team.
Beyond the matches, players will take part in a Cultural Day with a trip to the Great Wall and a Peking Opera performance, giving them a chance to experience Beijing’s heritage while building friendships across borders.
Launched in 2010, the tournament has been held nine times before and continues to promote youth football, international exchange, and Beijing’s role as a “Dual Olympic City.
