Zanzibari President Hussein Ali Mwinyi awarded medals and certificates to the 33rd batch of the Chinese medical team for their contributions to Tanzania’s healthcare. At a ceremony in Zanzibar, Mwinyi praised the Chinese team’s use of advanced medical technology and their efforts in training local medical staff, particularly in laparoscopic procedures. The Chinese medical team treated nearly 40,000 outpatients during their one-year service and held 20 large-scale free clinics. China has been sending medical teams to Zanzibar since 1964.
