Iranian and Qatari officials continued their third consecutive day of talks in Doha on Sunday, seeking an agreement to end the ongoing US-Israeli war on Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said discussions were focused on a two-day proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz following a possible agreement with Washington, although no final deal had been reached. US President Donald Trump said negotiations were going well, but reports suggested he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had discussed the possibility of increasing military operations after the November 3 US midterm elections.
Meanwhile, military tensions remain high. US officials have reportedly briefed Trump on possible military options, while Iran’s Revolutionary Guard warned it was prepared to respond to further attacks. The IRGC Navy also claimed that two oil tankers had struck naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz, causing explosions and fires. The claims could not be independently verified.
