Elon Musk’s SpaceX is investing $2 billion in his AI company xAI, as part of a $5 billion equity fundraising effort led by Morgan Stanley, according to The Wall Street Journal. This marks SpaceX’s first and largest-known investment in another company. Musk has been using his business empire to support xAI in its race to rival OpenAI. Earlier this year, xAI was merged with the social media platform X to expand the reach of its chatbot, Grok, which Musk claims is “the smartest AI in the world.” Grok now supports Starlink’s customer service and may eventually be integrated into Tesla’s humanoid robots. More collaborations between SpaceX and xAI are expected.
