South Korea’s liberal opposition bloc secured over three-fifths of seats in the parliamentary elections, according to the National Election Commission. The Democratic Party won 161 directly contested constituency seats, with its satellite party obtaining 14 proportional representation slots. The broader liberal bloc, including minor liberal parties, secured a total of 189 seats. The ruling conservative People Power Party and its sister party earned 90 constituency seats and 18 PR seats each. The election, held for 300 National Assembly members, saw voter participation at 14,259 polling stations across the country.
