The third Global Artificial Intelligence Summit (GAIN) began in Riyadh, focusing on advancing AI adoption globally and ensuring its ethical use. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, president of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), highlighted AI’s potential to bring benefits but also raised concerns about ethical challenges affecting global development. He called for international unity to address these issues.
The summit, themed “Leveraging AI for the Betterment of Humanity,” covers topics like generative AI, government roles, ethics, hardware innovation, and AI’s impact on industries and urban life. Over 450 experts will participate in discussions. Additionally, SDAIA released a report showing that AI is expected to contribute 12% to Saudi Arabia’s GDP by 2030.
