Ukraine and Russia ended a second day of U.S.-brokered talks in Abu Dhabi without reaching an agreement, but both sides said further discussions are planned for next weekend. The talks focused on possible terms to end the war and security arrangements, with U.S. officials saying progress was made despite key disagreements, especially over territory. The negotiations took place as Russia launched heavy airstrikes across Ukraine, knocking out power for more than a million people during freezing winter temperatures and killing at least one person. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attacks showed the urgent need to strengthen air defense support.
