US President Donald Trump said the Russia-Ukraine conflict could be closer to ending than many people think, following what he described as a positive phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump said both Russia and Ukraine want to end the war and that negotiations are continuing.
Russia said it remains open to talks but warned that progress depends on the US considering its proposals. Meanwhile, fighting continues, with both sides carrying out drone and missile attacks. Ukraine reportedly launched hundreds of drones at targets inside Russia, while Russia carried out major strikes on Kyiv and surrounding areas, killing at least 28 people, according to Ukrainian officials.
