More than 3,000 people have been evacuated in Beijing’s Miyun district due to heavy rainfall.
Miyun issued a red alert, the highest weather warning, after experiencing an average of 73.5 millimeters of rain, with some areas getting over 300 millimeters. All 3,065 evacuated residents are safe, with no fatalities reported.
The severe weather has led to road closures, bus route changes, and suspensions of train and boat services. More heavy rain is expected, raising concerns about flash floods, mudslides, and urban flooding.
