Russian President Vladimir Putin held more than three hours of talks with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Moscow. The Kremlin described the meeting as constructive and said they discussed possible political and diplomatic solutions to the Ukraine conflict, as well as economic cooperation between Russia and the US.
The talks came as Russia and Ukraine agreed to temporarily stop airstrikes on each other’s capitals through Monday. The US envoys are expected to travel to Kyiv next to continue discussions with Ukrainian officials. Ukraine has said it is ready to respect the temporary pause if Russia does the same.
Putin also said Russia is ready to continue working with the US toward a long-term peace deal, while stressing that the main causes of the conflict must be addressed. Credit : CGTN
