Vladimir Putin said Russia will remember the bravery of troops from both Russia and the North Korea who fought together in the Kursk region, praising their role in what he described as a shared victory.
He made the remarks at the opening of a memorial honoring overseas military operations, highlighting the sacrifice and contribution of North Korean soldiers.
Meanwhile, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov met with Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang, where both sides agreed to deepen military ties and work toward a long-term cooperation plan for 2027–2031.
Russian officials said bilateral relations are now at an “unprecedentedly high level,” reflecting growing strategic alignment between the two countries.
