Pro-Palestinian protests have erupted on university campuses across the U.S., UK, and France in solidarity with Palestinians amid Israel’s bombardment of Gaza. At University College London (UCL), students demanded divestment from Israel, labeling the university as “complicit in genocide.” Similar protests occurred at Sciences Po in Paris, where tensions rose between pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian demonstrators. Pro-Palestinian students, donning keffiyehs and Palestinian flags, emphasized the growing momentum of their movement, echoing sentiments seen in the U.S. and Australia. In the U.S., protests have spread across college campuses, with over 100 arrests at Columbia University and additional arrests at universities such as Indiana University and Arizona State University. Protesters are calling for divestment from companies associated with Israel’s military, an end to U.S. military aid to Israel, and amnesty for those disciplined for protesting. Campus leaders have responded by enforcing policies against hate speech and unauthorized camping, leading to arrests of protesters.
