President Xi urges maintaining normal passage through Strait of Hormuz in call with Saudi crown prince

Xi Jinping held a phone call with Mohammed bin Salman, stressing the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure.

Xi highlighted the 10th anniversary of China–Saudi ties and called for deeper cooperation, mutual trust and stronger bilateral relations. He also urged an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East, emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy to resolve conflicts.

Mohammed bin Salman described relations with China as highly strategic and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to dialogue. He also stressed the need to protect energy security and ensure safe navigation in the region, while working with China to promote long-term peace and stability.
