Chinese President Xi Jinping and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico met in Beijing, agreeing to elevate China-Slovakia relations to a strategic partnership. Marking 75 years of diplomatic ties, Xi noted the success of their cooperation and outlined four areas for further collaboration: maintaining high-level exchanges, expanding practical cooperation in fields like energy and infrastructure, boosting cultural exchanges, and supporting multilateralism. China will also grant Slovak citizens a 15-day visa-free entry. Fico reiterated Slovakia’s commitment to the one-China policy, encouraged more Chinese investments in Slovakia, and praised China’s balanced stance on the Ukraine crisis, expressing willingness to join peace efforts.
